Virginia "Jean" White

Virginia F. “Jean” White, age 73, of Blue Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home with family about her, on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.  Jean was born April 25, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska. She is the daughter of James and Irene F. (Jarzynka) Whitley.

Jean had worked at Cambridge Place as a Certified Medicine Aide for twenty years, retiring in 2020.  She loved her children and grandkids.  She especially enjoyed playing Santa Claus. She would do things for them and give them gifts, often buying their presents years in advance.  She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino.

Survivors include her three children:  Angie (Jim) Whiting of Waterville, Dana White of Blue Rapids and Dennis (Heather) White of Winfield, two siblings: Clifford (Patty) Whitley of Ralston, Nebraska and Julie Kuhn of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren: Jessica, Brittney, Skylar, Ty, Shelby, Adrianne and Abby.  Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a son David White, a grandson Jacob White and a sister Geraldine Allen.

Viewing will be at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a funeral service following at 2:00 pm.  Honorary bearers are Dennis White, Ty White, Cliff Whitley, Nate Whitley and Jerry Riley. Cremation will follow the service and a private family inurnment at Prospect Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date.
