Vaughna Gibson

Vaughna Lee Gibson, age 57 of Riley, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born on March 24, 1963 in Smith Center, the daughter of Willie Otis and Donna Lee (Davis) Gibson.

Vaughna was a daycare provider and a “jack of all trades”.

She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and was their event hostess.

She was known for being creative and a determined, generous person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memories are her four daughters, Lacey Lee Gibson of Manhattan, Kyia Lee Gibson of Manhattan, Ky’Mara Ilee Gibson of Riley and Myia Lee Gibson of Riley; one son, William De’Mar Gibson of Riley; one grandson, Zadyn Lee Strong of Manhattan and her brothers, Brandon Dale Gibson of Riley, Kenneth Lee Gibson of Hays and Edward Otis Gibson of Hays.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Shane Dale Gibson.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Sweet Home Cemetery near Lebanon, Kansas. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Riley.

A memorial has been established for the Vaughna Gibson Memorial Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
