Sylvia Grabhorn

Sylvia June Grabhorn, age 88 of Waterville, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on June 29, 1937, on the family farm near Irving, Kansas, the daughter of Edwin and Rosamond (Budenbender) Hula. She attended Antioch Country School and graduated from Irving High School in 1955.

On September 24, 1957, at the St. Monica Catholic Church in Waterville, she married Harry Grabhorn. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Sylvia was a homemaker and an avid fisher all her life. She was a huge sports fan, especially the Kansas City Royals.

She is survived by three children, Pamela Fabiano of Waterville, Patricia Alford of Waterville, and Philip Grabhorn of Hiawatha; one brother, Kenneth Hula; one sister, Gloria Hain and husband Jim; five grandchildren, Michael Sciandra, Travis Mann, Randy Alford, Jen Ruberg, and Megan Grabhorn, and one great granddaughter, Kennedy Sciandra.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Justin Grabhorn, and one sister, Carmen Thomas.

Cremation is planned with a private family graveside service in the Riverside Cemetery in Waterville. The Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville is handling the arrangements.
