Stephen K. Pfister, age 82 of Manhattan, passed away on May 23, 2026.
Stephen was born on August 7, 1943, the son of Chalmers and Dorothy Pfister.
Steve is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Brandon Pfister; grandson, Zane Pfister; Sister, Linda Graham; bonus grandchildren, Justice, Draven and Shayton Clark; sisters-in-law, Tanis (Elmer) Finkbiner, Jana (Robert) Finkbiner, Mary (John) Finkbiner, and many nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer Lee and JoAnne Descoteaux; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Carol Dauksch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Esther Finkbiner; and brothers-in-laws, Robert Finkbiner, Elmer Finkbiner and John Finkbiner.
Steve was a graduate of Clifton Rural High School and Emporia State University, served in the U.S. Army, a UPS retiree and a proud Teamsters Union member.
Steve and Marjie were high school sweethearts, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2025, and have been blessed with their beloved son, Brandon.
In memory of Steve, memorial contributions may be made to Manhattan Senior Center, Good Shepherd Hospice House or Manhattan Common Table and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, 303 S. Broadway, Riley, Kansas 66531.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
