Sharon Harding, age 80 of Leonardville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Advena Living of Clay Center.
She was born on March 7, 1942, the daughter of Oscar Emanuel and Anna Edna (Daniels) Burgman. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1960.
On March 18, 1960 in Marysville, she married Charles R. Harding. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Sharon worked as a janitor for Blue Valley schools and Keys Chicken Farm. She later got her CNA license and worked in nursing homes for over 20 years. She loved all sports, especially KU basketball. Sharon and her husband coached all of their kids softball teams. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning.
She is survived by four sons, Kevin Harding (Phyllis) of Clay Center, Todd Harding (Kim) of Clay Center, Rodney Harding (Barb) of Westmoreland and Mark Harding (Trish) of Downs; one daughter, Brenda Wichman of Topeka; two sisters, Judy Springer of Hanover and Sandra Rightmeier of Randolph; 13 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John Burgman, Harold “Sprug” Burgman, Val “Ferd” Burgman and Leo Burgman; three sisters, Delores Gillespie, JoAnn Fluharty and Shirley Duensing and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating.
A memorial has been established for the Clay Center Zoo and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
