Ronald Dean Osthoff, 65 of Clay Center, Kansas, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born on November 17, 1949 in Clay Center, the son of Arnold H. and Mary Gladys (Wiegers) Osthoff. He attended Morganville Grade School and three years at Morganville High School before graduating his senior year at Clay Center Community High School in 1967. He was a welder at G.T. Mtg, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 2009. On April 19,1975, he was married to Connie Gerdes. They later divorced. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sons of the American Legion Post #101 in Clay Center, had served as a Boy Scout Leader and was a foster parent for several children. He is survived by one daughter, Heather Osthoff of Sabetha; one son, Brady Osthoff and companion Melanie Avans of Wakefield; two granddaughters, Savanna Steffens of Scott City and Skylynn Osthoff of Wakefield; two step grandchildren, Jadney Oswald and Isabella Doza of Wakefield; two brothers, Larry Osthoff and wife Kay of Clay Center and Roger Osthoff and wife Kay of Clay Center; one sister, Kayla Wang and husband Russell of Clay Center and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Mary Osthoff; paternal grandparents, Henry and Frieda Osthoff; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Elsie Wiegers and his sister, Sandra Kay Osthoff. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 22, 2015 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Tessaro officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Thursday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Ronald Osthoff Memorial Fund, to be determined at a later date. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
