Mary Joseph, age 76 of Blue Rapids, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Community Memorial Healthcare.
Mary was born on April 26, 1949, the daughter of Ralph Burton and Teresa (Burton) Kuckelman.
She married Philip Joseph on October 4, 1969, in Seneca, Kansas. He survives.
Mary spent over 40 years cooking at the Frankfort Community Care Home and Blue Rapids Nursing Home. Her passion was taking care of people. She enjoyed making sure the residence at the nursing home were treated with kindness, respect and spoiled them with her cooking.
Mary loved visiting with family and friends. If you visited her at home, you never left hungry. She enjoyed cooking for everyone even the fur babies that would come to visit. When she knew you had a favorite recipe, she enjoyed surprising and making it for you. The grandchildren enjoyed her “goodies” table with homemade cookies, cake, banana bread and numerous different kinds of candy bars. At family dinners, her world famous dinner rolls were always requested. She was always up for learning new things especially her first smartphone. She loved to connect with family and friends on Facebook.
She is survived by her children: Catherine Rodriguez, Manhattan, Edward Joseph, Frankfort, Donald (Rhonda) Joseph, Blue Rapids, and Amy (Charles) Norman, Hutchinson, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren with the fourth one on the way.
Cremation is planned with private family services to be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Frankfort Community Care Home, and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home, at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
