Mary Kay Henry

Mary Kay Henry, age 79 of Randolph, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Wellsprings of Westmoreland. She was born November 19, 1946 in Marysville, the daughter of Howard Carl and Dorothy Mae (Thompson) Funk. 

Mary Kay graduated from Marysville High School with the class of 1965 and then went to the Omaha School of Practical Nursing to get her degree in Nursing. Through her career, she worked at the Hanover Hospital, Leonardville Nursing Home, Good Shepherd Homecare & Hospice, Meadowlark Hills and most recently at Lafene Health Center in the Women's Clinic for 12 years, retiring in 2011. 

On May 30, 1979 in Boulder, Colorado, she married Harold Eugene "Gene" Henry. He preceded her in death in 2013. 

She was a member of the Walsburg Lutheran Church where she served as a council member, Sunday school teacher, member of the altar committee and the LCW. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In their younger years, she and Gene enjoyed their bowling league. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed being a member of many quilt guilds. She used her talents to make pieces for family and friends or donated many quilts to charity events including Quilts for Lutheran World Relief. 

Mary Kay is survived by her son, Jared Henry (Heather) of Manhattan; her grandson, Hudson Lee Henry; Gene's children, Jon Henry of Manhattan and Cindy Henry of Hutchinson; her sister, Jane Temps (Richard) of Marysville; niece, Crystal Titus of Manhattan; nephew, Shelby Temps of Marysville; 3 step grandchildren, Lea, Lacy and Lyle Folsom and 1 step great grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene. 

Visitation will be held from 6 - 7 pm, Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley. 

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Walsburg Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Walsburg Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Walsburg Lutheran Church and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
