Madeline Louise Haynes, age 83 of Leonardville, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
She was born on October 11, 1940, in Glendale, California, the daughter of Madeline Shewbert and David Roth. She graduated from Reseda High School in 1959.
Madeline married DeRoss Johnson in November of 1959. They had four children: Allen, Jennifer, Matthew, and Lorrie. They divorced in 1980.
Madeline married Larry Haynes on July 6, 1985. He survives of the home.
In her younger days, Madeline took great joy in camping at the lake and fishing with her children, along with playing her guitar, writing songs she would sing at church. She had several hobbies, enjoyed painting and writing poetry. She was very proud of being published in several books and honored to receive the International Poet of Merit award in 1992.
In her later years, she loved going on road trips, watching fireworks, and attending car shows with her great love, Larry. They were very committed to each other throughout their life together.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Haynes; her children, Allen Johnson (Sherrie), Jennifer Whearty (Robert), Matthew Johnson (Sindee), and Lorrie Anchondo (Javier); her bonus daughters, Dawn Hinds (Kenneth) and Lisa Griffith (Mark); eleven grandchildren, Trishia, Michael, Katie, Savannah, Emily, Ryken, Sutter, Audrey, Cidney, Kristopher and William; eight great grandchildren, Riley, Lana, Lexi, Mara, Owen, Avery, Hagen and Levi; one brother, David Rymal and cousin, Sherry Edwards (Steve).
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lauren Griffith and one great grandson, Liam Ross Johnson.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Fancy Creek Church, 14841 Bodaville Road, Randolph, Kansas 66554 with Pastor Sandy Ferguson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Madeline Haynes Memorial Fund and left in care with the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
