Louis E. Hargrave, age 82 of Randolph, Kansas died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Blue Valley Senior Living Center in Blue Rapids, Kansas. He was born on May 30, 1931 on the family farm near Leonardville, Kansas, the son of Eldon and Edith (Pollman) Hargrave. On June 3, 1951 he was married to Norma M. Pate at the Garrison United Methodist Church. He was raised on a farm and spent his whole life farming. He was a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church, Kansas Livestock Association, Riley County Livestock Association, Blue Valley School Board Member, Jackson Township Board and 4-H Club Leader for the Randolph Ramblers. He is survived by his wife Norma Hargrave of Blue Rapids; three sons, Steven Hargrave and wife Debbie of Randolph, Gary Hargrave and wife Diana of Randolph and Daniel Hargrave and wife Kristin of Waterville; one foster son, Ken Hanson and wife Bonnie of Randolph; one sister, Margaret Larson of Pleasant Valley, MO; eight grandchildren, Derick Hargrave and wife Ashlie of Derby, Melissa Geisler and husband Kurtis of Leonardville, Nick Hargrave of Randolph, Monica Schultz and husband O.J. of Olathe, Gavin Hargrave of Manhattan, Trenton Hargrave and wife Lynn of Clay Center, Terra Hargrave of Waterville and Madison Hargrave of Waterville and four great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Hargrave and one sister, Anna Taylor. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Randolph United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathryn Love officiating. Music was furnished by Alice Gibson and Betty Wohler. Honorary Pallbearers were Russell Peterson, Arnold Hedke, Greg Anderson and Coburn Adkins. Pallbearers were Derick Hargrave, Ashlie Hargrave, Melissa Geisler, Kurtis Geisler, Nick Hargrave, Monica Schultz, O.J. Schultz, Gavin Hargrave, Trenton Hargrave, Lynn Hargrave, Terra Hargrave, John Bruna and Madison Hargrave. Burial was in the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the Randolph United Methodist Church and Meadowlark Hospice.
