Linda Sue Tiers, age 82 of Miltonvale, Kansas, passed away June 3, 2026 at Clay County Medical Center following a brief illness.
Linda was born March 7, 1944 in Vallejo, California to Earl and Wilda (Kaiser) Tiers. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carroll Tiers; sister, Sharon Tiers; and sister-in-law, Carol Tiers.
Survivors include one brother, Carmen Tiers; sister-in-law, Sharalyn Tiers; nieces, Karla Long (Jim); Michele Schwartz (Norb); nephews, Derrick Tiers (Susan); Darren Tiers (Jennifer), and many great nieces and nephews.
Linda graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1962. She received her teaching degree in secondary education from Emporia State University and received a master’s degree from Drake University. For over 30 years she taught biology at Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS.
In 2006, Linda moved back to the family farm. She loved being back in the community and attending the church where she was baptized as a young girl, the Idana Presbyterian Church. One of her greatest loves was volunteering at Lighthouse for Christ, she also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Idana Presbyterian Church at 10:30 on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. A private family burial will be held at the Miltonvale Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Lighthouse for Christ or Idana Presbyterian Church and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
