Lillian Kay Rippe, age 79 of Linn, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City.
She was born on April 4, 1938 on the family farm near Linn, the daughter of Herman Lawrence and Christina Sophia Anna (Boerger) Lehman. She graduated from Linn Rural High School.
She was married to Dale Edward Rippe on June 7, 1959 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He survives of the home.
Lillian was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was a Cooking Leader in 4-H. She cooked for several restaurants throughout her life and loved cooking for her family and friends. One of her most favorite days of the year, was shopping on Black Friday.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Becky Gregg of Ottawa, Barbara Hutfles of Clay Center, Norman Rippe of Washington, Diane Lee and husband Albert of Leonardville and Sandra Hitsman of Linn; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Bradley, William, Benjamin, Garrett, Jill, Emily, Grace and Sierra; one great grandson, Deven and eight siblings, Kate Wilkens, Lawrence Lehman, Leroy Lehman, Louise Rahe, Ruth Simnitt, Patty Rahe, Bill Lehman and Judy Lotz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Linn with Rev. David Gruoner officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, north of Linn.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for The Lutheran Hour. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
