Janet Fencil

Janet Lee Fencil (Craft), age 62, passed away peacefully at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, following a brief illness.

She was born June 25, 1962, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Lorna (Kenworthy) Craft. Janet grew up and spent much of her adult life in Blue Rapids, Kansas, and resided the last several years in Olathe, Kansas.

Janet was a 1980 graduate of Valley Heights High School. In September of 1980 she was united in marriage to Terry Fencil in Blue Rapids, Kansas. They later divorced. She received an associate’s degree from Manhattan Technical College and worked several jobs involving computer science, including positions at Georgia Pacific, JCPenney, and CVS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold, her mother, Lorna, and infant son, Andrew Howard “Boy” Fencil. She is survived by her sister, Jenni (Pierce) Holliman of Harrison, Arkansas; daughter, Teri (Bob) Kohman of Abilene, Kansas; son, Robert (Amber) Fencil of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Tobin Raub and Leah Raub of Abilene, Kansas, Brinley Fencil, Jared Fencil, and Jonathan Fencil of Omaha, Nebraska. She also leaves behind her friend and companion Bob Clark and beloved dogs Annie and Wesley.

In accordance with her wishes, Janet was cremated. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00am at Fairmont Cemetery, Blue Rapids, Kansas.
