Jane E Gibbs, 56 of Olsburg, Kansas passed away October 13, 2012 at the Westy Community Care Home Westmoreland, Kansas. Jane Kemmerer was born August 1, 1956 in Beloit, Kansas to Robert and Patricia Kemmerer of Jewell Kansas. Jane attended Jewell schools and graduated from Jewell High School in 1974. Jane married Rick Gibbs on September 14, 1974 in Jewell Kansas. Rick and Jane spent most of their married life on a farm in Olsburg, Kansas. They were blessed with three children; Richard Lee Gibbs Jr, Ryan Marshall Gibbs, and Jeana E Gibbs, all of Olsburg. Her seven grandchildren were her pride and joy. In Jane’s early years she enjoyed track and cheerleading. Jane was a skilled runner and placed in the 100 & 200 yard dashes at the State Track Meet. She was also involved in 4-H throughout her life by being a member and later by serving as club leader for many years. Jane was a member of the Olsburg Lutheran Church, many Church organizations and 4-H Clubs. She started working in March of 1983 at the KSU Extension Service in Manhattan, Kansas and semi-retired in 2009. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, flowers, and reading. Jane also loved living on the farm and all the work that was involved. Her greatest joy of all was her family and grandkids. Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Kemmerer. She is survived by her husband Rick, of the home at Olsburg, Kansas, her three children, Richard Lee Gibbs, Jr., Ryan Marshall Gibbs and Jeana E. Gibbs, all of Olsburg, Kansas; her father Robert Kemmerer of Beloit, Kansas; five siblings, Joycelyn Goff and husband Allen of Arkansas City, Kansas, John Kemmerer and wife Jan of Jewell, Kansas, Joleta Shamburg and husband Kevin of Salina, Kansas, Jerald Kemmerer and wife Jacque of Dodge City, Kansas, and James Kemmerer and wife Kelley of Concordia, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Chase Gibbs, Kylie Gibbs, Chris Gibbs, Macy Gibbs, Tucker Gibbs, Ethan Hardesty and Kennedy Gibbs all of Olsburg, Kansas; Rick’s parents, Pat Gibbs and Mary Lou Gibbs both of Olsburg, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the Olsburg Lutheran Church in Olsburg, Kansas, Chaplain Carol Frances and Pastor Gordon L. Sandquist officiating. Music was furnished by Taellor and Tami Howland, and Alice Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers were Ethan Hardesty and Tucker Gibbs. Pallbearers were Kraig Kasselman, Karl Kasselman, Joel Kemmerer, Chase Gibbs, Mike Burton, Bryan Shamburg, Tim Innes and Andrew Vasey. Burial was in the Olsburg Cemetery. The Holmes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established for the Olsburg Cemetery and the Olsburg Community Bible School and After School Program.
