Gary Rodgers

Gary Michael Rodgers, 75, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 at home.

Born August 5, 1950, in Centralia, Illinois. Mike grew into a strong-willed and determined man, whose grit and humor defined his life. Mike was a proud Vietnam War veteran, serving his country with courage and dedication.

Mike was known for his quick wit, stubborn streak, and his willingness to give advice — even when it wasn’t asked for. With Mike, there was always a lesson to be learned. Whether through humor or hard truth, he wanted those he loved to be strong and prepared for life.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rodgers of the home; daughter, Julie Starwalt (Josh Cullip) of Oak Hill; daughter, Marlene Biers of Pinconning, MI; son, Michael Rodgers Jr. (Kristy) of Standish, MI; brother, Ron Rodgers (Vicky) of Evansville, IL; daughter-in-law, Valerie Starwalt of Green; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Rodgers and Arlene Annie McClelland, and his son, Johnny Starwalt.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.  The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley assisted the family with arrangements.
