Frederick N. Fritz, age 79 of Riley, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. He was born on January 19, 1936, near Broughton, Kansas, the son of George Charles and Melva Alice (Hatfield) Fritz. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Paul Lutheran Church and graduated from Clay Center Community High School. He worked in construction and loved woodworking and building furniture. On November 3, 1957 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, he was married to Sharon Ann Woellhof. She survives of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Sweeney and Mike of Salina and Audrey Fritz and Gary Francis of Leonardville; one brother, Warren Fritz and Shirley of Clay Center; two grandchildren, Laura Sweeney of Salina and Brian Sweeney of Chandler, Arizona; his mother and father in law, Donald “Butch” and Pearl Woellhof of Leonardville; a brother in law, Lauren Rundle of Clay Center and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Alice Rundle. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Sunday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday. Memorials have been established for the Clay Center Animal Shelter and Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
