Frank Hamilton

Frank Wayne Hamilton, 78, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Frank was born on October 25, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Charles and Anna (Lotz) Hamilton. He was their only child. Frank graduated from Riley County High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army National Guard. In his early years, he also served on the Riley City Council and as a member of the Riley County Police Reserve, always finding ways to give back to his community.

In 2001, Frank was introduced to the love of his life, Lucinda (Cindy) Hinman, by his soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Gwyn Dehn. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and on May 17, 2003, Frank and Cindy were married in Williamsburg, Kansas. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories.

Frank was a certified master mechanic and service manager who spent many years working in motor vehicle management. He later worked for Allied Glass until his retirement in October 2020. He was also a member of Ottawa United Methodist Church and the Auto Service Managers Guild.

Outside of work, Frank enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with his family, and caring for the many dogs that became part of his life over the years.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Hamilton; his three sons, Wayne Hamilton, Bryan Hamilton and wife Stephanie, and Chad Hamilton and wife Lisa; and his daughter, Christina Clark and husband Roger. He is also survived by his three stepchildren, Tonya Roberts and husband Kenneth, April Hall, and Kenny Dehn and wife Gwyn, along with his beloved grandchildren, Malaki and Korbin Hamilton, Tyler Roberts, Megan and Kenna Dehn, and Paityn Tyner, who brought him much joy throughout his life. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sunshine, his faithful companion and a cherished part of his life.

Frank will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, his willingness to help others, and the many memories he created throughout his life. His memory will live on through the people he loved and the lives he touched.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Paws of Ottawa and may be left in care of Anderes-Pfeifley, PO Box 176, Riley, Kansas 66531.
