Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Warders, age 86 of Waterville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Blue Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Blue Rapids.
She was born on May 24, 1939, in Marietta, the daughter of Frank A. and Hulda Eileen “Jerry” (Cottrell) Sedlacek.
On February 14, 1958, in LaRochelle, France, she married Gary Lee Warders and they had two children, Julie Ann and Kevin Michael.
Beth bought Honsteads in Waterville with her sister and turned it into The Mercantile, owning it for many years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for the family and reading. She loved going to auctions and finding bargains.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Warders of Waterville; two children, Julie Andersen and husband Gail of Waterville, and Kevin Warders and wife Dixie of Manhattan; one sister, Rosalea McKee (Jerry) of Salina; six grandchildren, Kristen Bigham (Darin), Nina Beals (Kris), Samantha Castelic (Ryan), Jamie Plezia (Joe), Garrett Andersen (Aryn) and Gary Michael Warders, and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hulda “Jerry” Sedlacek; her parents-in-law, Ivan and Irene Warders; one sister, Judy Linnemann, and one granddaughter, Whitney Andersen.
Visitation will be from noon until 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 22, 2025, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Music will be furnished by Kim Oatney. Pallbearers will be Garrett Andersen, Kris Beals, Darin Bigham, Ryan Castelic, Kaison Bigham, and Gary Michael Warders. Honorary pallbearers are Gail Andersen, Mike Warders and Joe Plezia. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, south of Blue Rapids.
Memorials may be made to the Beth Warders Memorial Fund, to be determined at a later date. Contributions may be left in care of the Christie-Anderes Funeral Home, PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
