Edward Lind Fosha, age 85 of Leonardville, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Mercy Regional Health Center. He was born on November 19, 1929 at the family farm north of Riley, the son of Edward Fred and Maline (Lind) Fosha. On November 21, 1954 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, he was married to Doris Rothlisberger. She survives of the home. Ed was a farmer, worked in the mailroom at Farm Bureau and was an archeological consultant with Augustina College in South Dakota. He spent his whole life on the farm and will be buried on the land that he once farmed. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, South Dakota Archeology Society and a former president of the Leonardville Golf Course. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, gardening, fishing and hunting. He was jokester and a fan of the Jayhawks, Yankees and football. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Michael Fosha and Rose of Rapids City, South Dakota, Thomas Fosha and Robin of Leonardville, Kenneth Fosha and Debra of Lenexa and John Fosha and Laura of Olathe; two daughters, Susan Fosha Grimes and Gary of Baldwin City and Annette Ackerman and Duane of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a brother in law Lyle Haller. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Haller and a son in law, Randall Dolezal. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center with Rev. Paul Tessaro officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Wednesday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 P.M. Wednesday evening. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery north of Riley. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Leonardville Nursing Home and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas. Condolences may be left for the family at www.pfeifleyfuneralhome.com.
