Donna Marie Hoffman, age 55, of Clay Center, passed away suddenly at her home on the evening of September 14th, 2025.
The only child of Dean and 'Betty' (Mountain) Hoffman, Donna was a singularly bright and kind soul. Her lifelong goals seemed to be simply improving the lives of those around her.
Whether that was during her stint as a health care worker, beautification of our area working for waste management, her 'Driver of the Year' award or her starting her own business as a general contractor, she worked diligently making the world a better place.
Donna also lived her personal life by improving things around her with her endless kindness. Many will remember the smiling faces of children as Donna offered them rides on her mini horses and pull along carts. Her thrills as a competitive racer on her motorcycle and tricycle. Her hand raising orphaned or injured wildlife. From feral cats, baby squirrels, pet pigs and cranky opossums, dogs, ponies, and rabbits. All of God's creatures recognized her gentle hands and good intentions.
Nothing in this life brought that joy back to Donna as much as her loving family. She is survived by:
Her father, Dean Hoffman, whom she both doted on endlessly and competed with for the last bowl of ice cream. The careful care-taking of the farm where she was both raised and passed away is proof of the abiding love Donna shared with her Dad.
Her husband, Robert 'Buddy' Bradfield. True to his name, Buddy became Donna's constant companion and beloved best friend in the last years of her life. From raccoon wrangling to The Cupid Shuffle, everyone could see that those two shared a deep love and devotion to one another.
Her son, Dallas Hagenmaier. Donna often said that being Dallas' mom was the best thing that ever happened to her. He was her pride and joy. Donna could speak endlessly on their escapades together as mother and son, always beaming with laughter as she recounted the adventures that came with raising her beloved boy.
This joy was only multiplied by the addition of her grandchildren. To be near Donna was to hear stories of her time with Omi, Oni, Owen, John, and Luka. In the last year, only people who ran for cover missed being shown pictures of Little Daluka and the other kids roaming the farm as Dallas and Donna had done before them.
Donna will be missed endlessly by those mentioned, her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends of insurmountable numbers that became family purely through dedication and love.
A celebration of Life is being planned for November of 2025 in Clay Center, Kansas. The family will announce details as soon as they become available.
Any donations loved ones would like to make can be directed in memory of Donna Hoffman to CCARE in Clay Center, aiding in the care and placement of our furry friends, as she would have done herself.
