David Lee Vinduska

David Lee Vinduska, age 85 of Waterville, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.

He was born March 30, 1941 in Marion, Kansas, the son of Phillip Antone and Esther Ida (Teetzen) Vinduska.

David graduated from Abilene High School in 1959. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force. He attended trade school to become an automotive mechanic, a trade that took him through many different jobs throughout his career.

On September 19, 1969, David married Janet Maye Richner in Blue Rapids. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. She survives of the home.

Dave worked as a mechanic for a Volkswagen dealership. He and his wife Janet then became over the road truck drivers together, a career that would span 34 years. They enjoyed all of the places they were able to travel and memories that were made. They especially enjoyed being part of the Trucker Buddy Program that partnered them with elementary schools. They sent postcards to the students and visited the school to teach them about their semi. He also spent time working for Bruna Implement and A&D Lindquist Fencing.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, OOIDA and received the Riley County Conservation District Grassland Management Award in 2010. He was most proud of being an AA member for 47 years. He cherished the meetings and memories he made with close friends in the group.

Dave is survived by his wife, Janet, his son, Vance Vinduska of Bremen; daughter, Michelle Perez of Wichita; son-in-law, Gerald Perez of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Dalton Perez, Julian Perez, Morgan Vinduska, Macie Vinduska and Reece Vinduska; his brothers, Francis Vinduska of Florida and Jerry Vinduska of Abilene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred Vinduska and three sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Rosie Vinduska and Jane Vinduska.
