Cheryl Marie Yungeberg, age 78 of Waterville, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at her residence.

She was born January 10, 1947, the daughter of Roy and Virginia (Christensen) Woborny.

Cheryl married her husband, William "Bill" Yungeberg, on August 16, 1963, at the Pentecostal Church in Frankfort, Kansas. From this union they were blessed with five children, Roy, Melody, Merry, Paula and Barbara, as well as fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren, who cherish memories of her unwavering support and nurturing spirit. Bill and Cheryl were so happy to have recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary, a true testament to their love and commitment.

A passionate crafter, Cheryl found joy in creating beautiful items and capturing life's moments through photography. She also enjoyed the art of ceramics and had a special fondness for visiting garage sales, where she often found hidden treasures. Known for her delicious cooking, Cheryl will be fondly remembered for her mouthwatering biscuits and gravy, coconut cream and lemon meringue pies, and homemade pizzas that brought joy to family gatherings.

While Cheryl dedicated much of her time as a homemaker, she also enjoyed cleaning for 25 years at the VHHS Superintendent's office and various homes in the community.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bill; her son, Roy (Keli) Yungeberg of Waterville; four daughters, Melody (Paul) Tommer of Frankfort, Merry Hula of Waterville, Paula Crome (David Smith) of Marysville and Barbara (Philip) Grabhorn of Hiawatha; her sister, Mary McKeever (Brad) of Marysville, Marte Norris of Ozark, Missouri; brother, Chris (Elizabeth) Woborny of California; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Larry Woborny, Clione Billau, Linda Holliman and Kristin Woborny and her grandson, Justin Grabhorn.

Viewing will be from noon until 7 pm, Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 pm.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Christie-Anderes Funeral Home with Rod Christie officiating. Pallbearers are Justin Grabhorn, Derrick Swearingen, Ryan Yungeberg, Michael Crome, Matthew Crome and Mitchell Crome. Honorary Pallbearers are Nicole Yungeberg, Mandy Meadows, Mallory Metz, Lauren Harper, Megan Grabhorn, Mikael Tommer, Alli Tommer and Madison Crome. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice and left in care of the Christie-Anderes Funeral Home.
