Carl Merton Schurle

Carl Merton Schurle, age 72, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, from injuries sustained in a pedestrian vehicle accident west of Manhattan. He was born on February 11, 1940, at Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Merton and Lucille (Schultz) Schurle. Carl was an auto mechanic. He loved music and taking care of his many pigeons, his goose and other animals. He was married to Reva Schurle on December 27, 1964, they later divorced. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Timothy Carl Schurle and one brother Jared Schurle. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Francis and husband Steve of St. Louis Missouri; and three grandchildren, Andre, Austin and Aaron Francis. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Pallbearers were David Murphy, Charles W. Schurle, Chris Schurle, Fred Schurle, Jeff Schurle, Rich Schurle and Stan Schurle. Burial was in the Riley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donors choice.
