Beverly Rose Johnson, age 86 of Marysville, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Cambridge Place Senior Village in Marysville.

She was born on February 12, 1940, in Truesdale, Iowa, the daughter of William Edward and Birdeen Matilda (Katz) Koch.

On September 4, 1956, in Marysville, she married Gerald “Bud” Johnson and had five children. They later divorced and remained friends.

Beverly dedicated her early years to being a loving homemaker while raising her children, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and freshly baked treats. She later pursued a career as a social worker until she had an unfortunate car accident in which left her disabled. Beverly loved spending time with her family and attending grandchildren’s activities, birthdays, graduations, and weddings. She took joy in decorating her home for every season, holiday, and special occasion. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Beverly never missed a game and proudly supported her teams through every season.

She is survived by four children, Sara Dierking of Lincoln, Nebraska, Vickie Sutter and husband Jeff of Beatrice, Nebraska, Michael Johnson and wife Annga of Marysville, Kansas, and Carmen Lee and Husband Mike of Lincoln Nebraska; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lisa Johnson; one son-in law, Steven Dierking; one grandson, Joshua Whitmore; one granddaughter, McKenzie McClellan; one great granddaughter, Brynn Robeson.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Summerfield Cemetery in Summerfield, Kansas.

The Christie-Anderes Funeral Home in Waterville is handling the arrangements.
