Leonard D. Marshall, age 79, of Salina, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the Frankfort Care Home in Frankfort, Kansas.
Leonard was born June 17, 1942, at Blue Rapids, to Harold L. and Amanda M. (Butler) Marshall.
He graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1960. He then went to the Kansas Vocational and Rehabilitation Center in Salina, where he trained as a cook. After graduating he continued to work for KVRC until his retirement in 1997.Leonard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salina.
He was very devout in his faith. He loved to travel and had been to Israel, Australia and New Zealand, in addition to all fifty states. He was known for his dry sense of humor and could be quite witty.
Survivors include his sister Naomi Osborne of Portland, Oregon as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Leonard in death were his parents, three siblings: Harold Marshall, Patricia Marshall and Iona Comer and a brother and two sisters in infancy.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home with Mr. Rod Christie officiating. “Safe In The Arms Of Jesus” and “One Day At A Time” were played as special music. Casket Bearers included: Dennis Osborne, Rob Hartloff, Jeff Pishny, Adrian Pishny, Koty Holmes and Daniel Roepke.
Burial at Greenwood Cemetery followed the service, south of Blue Rapids.
