Cary E. Skalla age 72, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Cary was born September 28, 1948, in Marysville, to Edwin C. and Opal L. (Weber) Skalla. 

He graduated from Blue Rapids High School in 1966. He married Alicia Padgett, the mother of four of his children, they later divorced. 

On August 4, 1986, he married Andrea Law, and the mother of two of his children. 

Cary was a farmer. A member of the George Bedford Post 169 of the American Legion in Blue Rapids.  Cary was an outdoorsman, he loved wildlife and animals in general. He taught his children from a young age to also have a love for the outdoors. He could talk to anyone about almost anything and loved to do so often. Most of all Cary loved his grandchildren and his children.

Survivors include his wife Andrea, his children Nicole (Jonathan) Skalla of Hyde Park, New York, Amber (Brandon) Stephens of Brookings, South Dakota, Kurt (Cheryl) Skalla of Blue Rapids, Laura (Brent) Dukes of Manhattan, Natalie (Jesse) Skalla of Broomfield, Colorado, and Colton Skalla of Blue Rapids, a sister, Kay (Guy) Ellis of Topeka, and by twelve grandchildren.

Preceding Cary in death were his parents and an infant brother, Thomas Skalla.

Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, with visitation between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery, south of Blue Rapids, with Mr. Rod Christie officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to either the George Bedford Post 169 of the American Legion or the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center and may be sent in care of Terry-Christie Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
