Larry J. Springer

Larry J. Springer, age 82, of Waterville, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Cambridge Place in Marysville.

Larry was born on February 27, 1938, in Waterville, to Gerald W. and Ruth M. (Anderson) Springer. 

He graduated from Waterville High School in 1956. Shortly after high school he joined the US Army where he served from 1956 until 1958. After his military service, Larry moved to Colorado where he worked as an electrical foreman for the Public Service Company of Colorado in Boulder, until his retirement. He returned home to Waterville in 2008. 

Larry was a member of the Lions Club, Springer Post 332 of the American Legion, and Marshall County Railroad Historical Society, in Waterville, the Elks Club in Boulder, Colorado and the Model A Ford Club of America. He thoroughly enjoyed an early retirement – always building, fixing, and tinkering. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends, a good laugh and a good meal.

Survivors include his children, Judy (Jason) Narenkivicius of Palisade, Colorado, and Gary (Annie) Springer of Price, Utah; grandsons: Cooper, Jake, Toby and Conner; and siblings, Marianne Spano of Topeka, twin sister Lola Zabokrtsky of Barnes, Lee (Barbara) Springer of Wilmington, Illinois, and Keith Springer of Topeka.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents and four siblings: Gail Springer, Elaine Randle, Neil Springer, and Max Springer.

Cremation is planned with a private graveside inurnment at the Afton Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
