Mickey M. McIntyre, age 71, of Waterville, passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

Mickey was born November 4, 1948, at Highland, to John M. and Lila B. (Gurney) McIntyre. 

He graduated from Marysville High School in 1967. 

In 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the nuclear submarine, U.S.S. Woodrow Wilson. In 1972 he was honorably discharged and returned home. He went to work for the US Postal Service as a city letter carrier, retiring 40 years later. Afterward he continued to work on the family farm and work part time for Rail Crew.

Mickey met Sandra K. Travelute in 1980, they were married on December 26, 1981 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Marysville.

Survivors include his wife Sandra McIntyre of Waterville, his son, Shawn (Stephanie) McIntyre of Waterville, his daughter, Melissa McIntyre of Waterville, four grandchildren, his step-mother, Dorothea McIntyre of Columbus, Nebraska, his sister, Cheryl (Gary) Rieth of Hanover and his brother, Randy (Janice) McIntyre of Fairbury, Nebraska.

Preceding Mickey in death are is parents John McIntyre, Lila and step-father Bill Weier, and a brother Michael McIntyre.

Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Friday, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville.  Graveside Services are at 9:00 am, Saturday, July 18, 2020, at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in Marysville with Mr. Rod Christie officiating. Casket Bearers are Alan Bruna, Don Musil, Chad Parker, Mark Dwerlkotte, Don Stryker and Dan Howell. Military Honors will be presented by a detail from the U.S. Navy and Marysville SMN&R Post 163 of the American Legion. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
