Jon W. “Fuzz” Schell, age 58, of Marysville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Community Memorial Health Care in Marysville.

Jon was born October 25, 1961, to Dennis L. and Wilma J. (Gerdes) Schell. 

He began working at age 16. He was a truck driver for many years, but particularly enjoyed doing farm work and custom harvesting. For the last several years he worked for Schell Construction. 

Jon was known for being the comic relief in any situation. He knew almost any song that would come on the radio and would often make up his own lyrics. He was known as a hard worker and was always looking for someone to help, especially farmers. He had a passion for farming. 

He was also the greatest grandpa, spoiling his grandchildren. He never showed up without a pocketful of candy.

He married Laura M. Meybrunn in 1989, they later divorced. 

Survivors include his five children: Jenna Nelson of Kansas City, Missouri, Daniel (Haley) Schell of Marysville, Sara (Derek) Gyhra of Pawnee City, Nebraska, Sydney (Joel) Rexroth of Humboldt, Nebraska, and Michael Schell of Marysville, seven grandchildren; his father Dennis Schell (fiancé Pam Carpenter) and special friend, Lori Runnebaum, three sisters: Lisa Nolan of Marysville, Linda Tiers of Westmoreland and Jana (Paul) Strunk of Wamego, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jon in death are his mother Wilma and twin sisters: Lesli Schell and Lauri Schell.

Viewing will be at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Marysville, from noon to 7:00 pm, Monday, family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm with Rosary following. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church in Marysville with Father Quentin Schmitz and Monsignor Richard Gyhra Celebrating the Mass. The organist is Cindy Voet and the Cantor is Paula Landoll-Smith who will sing “Be Not Afraid”, “You Are Mine”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace”, and “On Eagles Wings”. The Lector is Abby Sweet. Casket Bearers are: David Lord, Chuck Marquardt, Ken Rhodes, Rodney Nolte, Steve Pacha, and Brad Studer. Honorary Bearers are: Jeff Schell, Wayne Thomsen, Dave Handley, Phil Studer, Dan Pacha, Farmer Lord, Grease Schell, Jan Schell, Kevin Meyer, Kent Schwartz, Richard Weber, Jimmy Wassenberg, Leon Wassenberg and Paul Strunk. Burial is at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in Marysville.
