Billy L. Edwards, Sr.

Billy L. Edwards, Sr., age 90, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, at Blue Valley Senior Living in Blue Rapids.

Bill was born on December 20, 1929, at Beatrice, Nebraska to Louis C. and Sadie A. (Marshall) Edwards. 

He grew up around Fostoria, Kansas where he attended high school. 

While serving in the US Air Force he met and married Nadine A. Wilson. They were married on March 31, 1953, at San Mateo, California. 

Billy worked many years as a lineman for a power company, then worked with his wife Nadine when they owned and operated the Blue Valley Café in Blue Rapids.

Bill was known as a good man, a hard worker, and a good boss. He loved to help people whenever the opportunity arose. He will be remembered at the café for his biscuits and gravy.

Survivors include four children: Linda (Joe) Haecker of Blue Rapids, David (Mary Sue) Enoch of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas, Cindy (Arnold) Adkins of Blue Rapids and Billy L. (Cathy) Edwards, Jr. of Blue Rapids, twenty seven grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents, wife Nadine, a daughter, Kathy Adkins, a son Louis Edwards and three brothers: Don Edwards, George Edwards and Louis Edwards, Jr.

Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Sunday, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. Private Graveside Services are at 10:00 am, Monday, May 4, 2020, at Prospect Hill Cemetery North of Blue Rapids, with Mr. Rod Christie officiating. (The service will be available live on Facebook.) Casket Bearers are Brandon Edwards, Kris Dowd, Daniel Dowd, Jason Brammer, Ace Nolan, Anthony Edwards and Drayden Dowd.
