Roberta T. "Bertie" Osborne, age 78, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.Bertie was born March 2, 1939 at Frankfort to James V. and Bessie I. (Hidy) Welch. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1957. On June 29, 1957 she married Donald Osborne at the Frankfort United Methodist Church. She had worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Botkin and Dr. Poppe at the Blue Rapids Dental Clinic until her retirement.Bertie was a member of the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women at the church. Her children and grandchildren remember her as their biggest fan and supporter!Survivors include her husband Don, her children: Coleen (Ben) Weber of Topeka and Jim (Shelli) Osborne of Blue Rapids, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, a son David Osborne, and her three sisters: Lova Lee Feldhausen, Norma Welch and Sharon Godfrey.Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm Thursday at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville.Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, January 12, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Blue Rapids, with Pastor Debby Dick officiating. Althea Wertz will be the musician. Brenda Corbin will be singing “Soon And Very Soon”. Other recorded music is to include “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “El Shaddai." Casket Bearers are Bob Feldhausen, Mike Feldhausen, Randy Feldhausen, Cody Osborne, Kelsey Osborne and Terre Carter. Honorary bearers are Megan, Matt and Sean Ortega, Chelsea and Colby Cox, Sammi Osborne, Kristal, Kinley and Bennett Osborne, Bev Carter, Sarah Whiting, Harold and Virginia Sutton, and Marylin and Skinny Lamb. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, north of Blue Rapids.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
