Joy Delight Claycamp, age 81, of Blue Rapids, passed away at Blue Valley Senior Living Nursing Home of Blue Rapids on January 13, 2018.Joy was born January 21, 1936, at Frankfort, KS to Albert A. and Ellen I. (Johnson) Lindeen. She attended school in Frankfort. She married Robert (Bob) L Claycamp Sr., on April 16, 1953 at the Blue Rapids First Baptist Church. This union was blessed with five children.After living a short time in Kansas and Oklahoma, Joy moved with her family to Omaha in 1957. While in Omaha, Joy worked at the United States Checkbook Company for 16 years. She served as a Den mother in the Boy Scouts and a Brownie leader in the Girl Scouts. When she returned to Blue Rapids in 1973, she worked at the Jolly West Grocery Store, the Blue Valley Cafe, the Blue Rapids Greenhouse, and the Blue Valley Nursing Home. Joy was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Ladies Auxiliary Post 1475 and served in many capacities for over 13 years. She was an active member of the community and known for the works of her hands, her kind heart, welcoming arms, and infectious smile.Survivors include her children; Robert L. (Melinda) Claycamp Jr. of Maryville, MO, Deborah (Richard) Thompson of Omaha, NE, (Sheryl) Claycamp of Bellevue, NE, Rick (Tammi) Claycamp of Austin, TX, Roy (Linda) Claycamp of Cabool, MO, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, sisters Joann (Delbert) Nauman, Indianapolis, IN and Helen Neeman, Lincoln, NE, sister-in-law Pamela Claycamp, Wichita Falls, TX along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends whom she adored.Joy was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sr., son William A. Claycamp, grandchildren, Iris Thompson and Richard Claycamp, parents Albert and Ellen Lindeen and William and Margaret (Kissell) Claycamp, brothers William, Roy and James Lindeen, sister-in-laws Ann and Elenora Lindeen, Ethel Watson, Opal, Daisey Mae, Mary, and Annabelle Claycamp, Alletta Schultze, brother-in-laws Dean Neeman, Richard, George, Ruben, and Alfred Claycamp, Melvin Miller, Walter Price, Nathan Watson, Walter Schultze.Funeral services are at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids, with Pastor Dick Coleman officiating. Music is to include pre-recorded selections of “Heaven’s Garden” and “ In The Garden”. Casket Bearers are Jeramie Thompson, Amos Thompson, John Thompson, Dustin Claycamp, Thomas Claycamp, Nathan Claycamp, William Claycamp, Michael Claycamp and Allen Yungeberg. Honorary Bearers are Elizabeth Koester, Heather Weaver, Christina Langel, Andrea Adgate, Nicole Claycamp, Bill Barrington, Denny Waite, Steve Gaydusek and Bob Roepke. Burial is at Fairmont Cemetery in Blue Rapids.Memorials are suggested to the Joy Claycamp Memorial to be determined later and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
