Donald K. Harris

Donald K. Harris, age 60, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka. Don was born May 28, 1958 to Robert L. “Bob” and Esther L. (Davis) Harris at Hill City.Don had worked at Twin Valley in Greenleaf. He enjoyed going for rides just to look at 18 wheelers and cattle. The ride would be made special by a stop at Hardee’s for a cheeseburger, fries and a Pepsi. He also enjoyed country music and getting to go fishing with his Uncle Clyde. Everywhere he went, he would always say hello and shake hands with everyone he met.Survivors include his two brothers Bob Harris of Marysville and Timothy Reid of Pittsburg, a sister Sheila Rutherford of Burns, and an aunt Jean Thornton Harris of Blue Rapids.Preceding him in death were his parents and his uncle Clyde Harris.Funeral services are planned for 10:30 am, Monday, September 10, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Blue Rapids, with Pastor Debby Dick officiating. Burial is at Prospect Hill Cemetery, north of Blue Rapids.Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Neurological Institute and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
