George A. Thorngate

George A. Thorngate, age 80, of Marysville, passed away at his home on Monday, September 10, 2018.George was born February 16, 1938, on the family farm at North Loup, Nebraska, to Walter A. and Lula G. (Sample) Thorngate. He married Virginia L. “Jimmie” Cummins on December 1, 1956, at Madrid, Iowa. Most of his career was working as a Meat Cutter for either Skagg’s or B&R Super Saver in Lincoln, Nebraska.Survivors include his wife Virginia Thorngate of Marysville, four sons; David (Paula) Thorngate of Chattaroy, Washington, Rodney Thorngate of Marysville, Bradley Thorngate of Hannibal, Missouri and Scott (Denise) Thorngate of Marysville, a sister, Carol (Rick) Moser of Snohmish, Washington, and by ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Walter “Bus” Thorngate and three sisters; Doris Annyas, Dorothy Thorngate and Patricia Thorngate.Cremation was selected with a private inurnment to be held at a later date.Memorials to Virginia Thorngate and cards may be sent in care of Terry-Christie Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
