Robert L. "Rob" Pinnick, age 61, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018, at Community Memorial Health Care, after a prolonged illness.Rob was born on May 13, 1957, at Smith Center, to Jack E. and Judy A. (Rice) Pinnick. He graduated from Valley Heights High School in 1975. He married Diana L. Whiting on September 10, 1977, at Blue Rapids.After high school Rob joined the US Air Force, serving until his retirement in 1994. He then worked for Blue Rapids Auto and Hardware until he started working for Union Pacific Railroad in 1998. He was an Engineer.Rob will be remembered by his family as a patriotic, gun toting, hardworking American. He will also be remembered as the best hugging and ornery grandpa.Survivors include his wife Diana, his mother Judy Pinnick of Manhattan, four sons; Levi (Talysha) Pinnick of Blue Rapids, Lucas Pinnick of Blue Rapids, Ethan Pinnick of Blue Rapids and Caleb Pinnick of Blue Rapids, five daughters; Brandi Plante of Blue Rapids, Morgan (Hoss) Simmet of Frankfort, Jacki Pinnick of Blue Rapids, Sarah Pinnick of Blue Rapids, and Elaini (Mark) Burnley of Home City, two brothers Tim Pinnick of Washington and Nathan Pinnick of Portland, Oregon, a sister Lisa Herrs of Manhattan, and by seven grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Pinnick.Funeral services are at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Marysville Berean Church, with Pastor Joel Barber officiating. Congregational hymns are to include “How Great Thou Art”, “The Old Rugged Cross” (accompanied by Jonas Plante and Matt Fincham) and “Just As I Am”. A medley of the military anthems will also be played. Matt Fincham is the musician. At the cemetery Rick Lister, Jerry Horton and Scott Keller will be playing “Spirit In The Sky”.Casket Bearers are Levi Pinnick, Lucas Pinnick, Ethan Pinnick, Caleb Pinnick, Hoss Simmet and Mark Burnley. Honorary Bearers are Jim Ratcliff, Pat Simmet, Greg Krips and Gary Ames.Burial will be on the family property next to Prospect Hill Cemetery, north of Blue Rapids. Military Honors are provided by George Bedford Post 169 of the American Legion, Blue Rapids, and an Honor Detail from the Offutt Air Force Honor Guard.Memorials are suggested to the Robert Pinnick Memorial, to be designated later, and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
