Lori D. Coleman, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Waterville.Lori was born on February 14, 1966 in Manhattan, to Morris and Jean Merrill of Waterville. She attended 3 years of high school at Valley Heights and her senior year at Marysville where she graduated in 1985. She continued her education with a degree from Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina. It was there she met and married John D Coleman on June 7, 1986, in Salina. They then moved to Syracuse, New York.Together they had two children: John M Coleman of Wetmore, and Jessica A Coleman of Goff. They were the love of her life. She was so proud to call them her kids. She and John later divorced and she moved back to Kansas.Lori was raised on a farm south of Waterville and learned many trades pertaining to the farm. Her family owned and operated a custom harvesting business for many years which she helped out with the cooking and drove a grain truck. She had many hobbies as a kid the most unique one was riding a unicycle. She learned this in the family's upstairs hallway and the scars are still there. The family often camped out at Tuttle Creek where she hung out with her friends, water skiing, biking and boating. She had a very tender heart and loved animals especially dogs and cats. She found an alley cat one time in Hobart, Oklahoma, it traveled with her on the harvest.She had many friends far and near due to her travels with the harvest. She never knew a stranger and loved all of her friends.Due to her health issues in later years she spent many years in nursing homes until her death.She is survived by her children, John Coleman and Jessica Coleman, Her parents Morris and Jean Merrill, two sisters Tami (Bernie) Sunnenberg Axtell and Kristy (Carl) McClintick Tucson, Arizona and 4 nieces and nephews, 6 Great nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed.Memorial gifts may be made to The Good Shepherd Hospice House in her memory, and may be sent in care of Terry Christie Funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
