Roland E. Sperry

Roland E. Sperry, age 75, of Belle Vista Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

He was born in Blue Rapids, KS on Oct. 21, 1943 to the late Glen and Erna Sperry.

Roland graduated from Blue Rapids High School in 1961 and then from Kansas State University. He went on to work as a financial manager for Amoco Oil for 35 years.

On August 19, 1962, he married Nona L. Reed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waterville. During that time, he and his family enjoyed living and working overseas.

His passions were his family, cooking and gardening. He was an active member of Bella Vista Lutheran Church and the Amoco Alumni Group.

Roland was a man of integrity. Always patient and kind. It was difficult for him to find fault in another human being.

Survived by his loving wife Nona, a daughter Angela and husband Tom, a son Ty and wife Nadia, and 3 beloved grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am, Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Belle Vista Funeral Home in charge of arrangements in Arkansas. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 14, 2018, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waterville with Sister Mary Arie officiating. Congregational hymns are to include “Abide With Me”, “Let There Be Peace On Earth” and “Lift High The Cross”, accompanied by Kim Oatney. Casket Bearers are to include Fritz Blaske, Darrell Denton, Darrell Brooks, Tim O’Hara, Phillip Bigham and Randy Wilcox. Burial is at Fairmont Cemetery in Blue Rapids.
