Arlyn R. Peterson, age 85, of Waterville, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Community Memorial Health Care in Marysville.

Arlyn was born March 26, 1934, at Waterville, to Roy “Eddie” and Esther M. (Lohse) Peterson. 

He graduated from Waterville High School in 1951. 

On October 15, 1961, he married Charlotte J. Toburen at the Waterville United Methodist Church.

He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waterville, where he served on the church council for 23 years. Arlyn was a farmer. 

He enjoyed being in 4-H as a young person and continued his involvement as an adult. He enjoyed history and was a member of the Blue Rapids Historical Society and the Marshall County Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte, his daughter Darlene M. (Roger) Wilson of Hutchinson, two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial services are planned for 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waterville with Sister Mary Arie officiating. Kim Oatney will be the musician and is to sing “One Day at a Time”.  Other music is to include congregational hymns of “Children of the Heavenly Father” and “To God Be The Glory”. The recessional will be “Marching to Zion” played by Kim Oatney. Honorary Bearers are Scott Zabokrtsky, Luin Berger, Gayle Peterson, Lyle Peterson and Doug Frohberg. 

A private inurnment at Riverside Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to either; St. Mark Lutheran Church or the Blue Rapids Historical Society, and may be sent in care of Terry-Christie Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
