Patricia J. Rainey, age 85, of Salina, formerly of Blue Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina.Pat was born on May 21, 1932, at Blue Rapids, to Donald J. and Beryl F. (Reedy) Bishop. She graduated from Blue Rapids High School in 1950. She married Richard “Rick” D. Rainey on July 20, 1972, at Las Vegas, he passed away in 2002.Pat was a member of the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church, the Blue Rapids Rebekah Lodge #337 and the American Legion Auxiliary in Blue Rapids. She had worked for Gator’s Hometown Foods for many years. She moved to Salina in 2005. While there, she worked at St. John’s Military School until her health would no longer allow her to work.She was happiest when she could make someone laugh and enjoyed a good joke. She loved being around people listening and talking with them. She also enjoyed fishing and babysitting her great-grandchildren.Survivors include her daughter, Kaye (Tony) Blair of Salina, son Brett (Florence) Schuh of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, a brother, Bob (Shirley) Bishop of Blue Rapids, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rick, two brothers; Donald Bishop and Larry Bishop, and two sisters; Jean Crane and Ilene Bishop.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 pm. The Funeral Service will be at 2:30 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church with Pastor Debby Dick Officiating. Music will be provided by Kim Oatney who will sing, “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Casket bearers are Nick Winslow, Chris Winslow, Michael Winslow, Eric Hebert, Tony Blair and Jeff Schuh. Honorary bearers are Larry Bishop, Donnie Bishop, Bob Bishop, Jean Crane and Ilene Bishop. Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery, Blue Rapids.Memorials are suggested to American Legion Post 62 and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
