Marjorie C. Fisher, age 92, of Waterville, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Blue Valley Senior Living in Blue Rapids.
Born Jan. 6 1927 in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan Canada. Marjorie was the third eldest child born to Carl and Elsie “Etta” (Oehler) Schuh. Came to Kansas in 1930 and settled in Cottage Hill and Waterville communities where she spent her childhood with her six brothers and one sister, all of whom precede her.
On January 26, 1947, Marjorie married Franklin H. Fisher in Blue Rapids. Together they raised four sons while living a life of service to the Waterville community, with Marjorie having provided in-home daycare while also working as a dispatcher for emergency services before retiring in 1989. Franklin preceded her in death June 30, 2006.
Marjorie loved her family and any time she was able to spend with them. She especially enjoyed camping trips and family vacations. She enjoyed dancing in her younger years.
Marjorie is survived by her Sons: Dennis (Karen) of Langdon, Steven (Deb) of Topeka, Terry (Vicki) of Blue Rapids, Daughter-in-law Shirley Fisher of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Lonnie Fisher, a grandson, Fred Fisher, a great grandson, Deonte Fisher, a sister Barbara Ann Schuh and six brothers; Carl Schuh, Walt Schuh, Arnold Schuh, Ronald Schuh, Albert Schuh and Glennes Schuh.
Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, with visitation between 6:30 and 8:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. Funeral services are at 10:30 am, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the Waterville United Methodist Church with Pastor Troy Bowers officiating. Music is to include “Precious Memories” and “How Great Thou Art” sung by Kim Oatney and a congregational Hymn of “Shall We Gather At The River”. Beverly Hedke is the organist. Casket Bearers include Jeromy Fisher, Dan Fisher, Justin Fisher, Chad Fisher, Donovan Fisher and Tina Fisher. Honorary Bearers are Christina Fisher, Chelsea Johnson, Jackie Redinger, Josh Ostrom, Brandon Johnston, Ashley Swearingen and Derrik Russell. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Waterville.
